What are you wearing?

08 Feb

Therese’s jacket was in the same room as a sleeping toddler, and I never risk waking a wee one!  She was thrilled to wear one of mommy’s army sweatshirts.  She said it kept her warmer than her winter coat!  More pictures of “Snowmageddon” to come- I just have to finish uploading.

Happy Birthday Big Sis!

05 Feb

Going on 19....Happy Birthday, Bridget!  You were the one I was always trying to “catch up” to… born a whole 18 months before me and you were always carving a path.  Often I wanted to follow exactly where you had trod, but it didn’t always turn out that way.  I guess God knew what he was doing!  No one ever believed we were sisters in high school- do you remember?  “You get along too well!”  This comment was repeated often by our peers and superiors alike.  Except for the last name we didn’t really have a lot in common- you were petite and blond while I was tall and dark.  You shunned all team sports and thrived in your individuality and creativity while I worked to be part of every team there was!  We did share a love fof music but even in that you branched out beyond what I cared to or could ever hope to achieve.  You are still the big sis I am looking to for advice in so many areas- “What do you think of teaching math this way, Bridget?”  “What is a better approach to discipline in this area?” “Where would be a fun place to travel?”  “How can we be better about our budget?” (Bridget is the queen of frugality!) We also agree to disagree on many fronts but I know you know that I love you so much and I am always praying for you.   I cannot believe you are already 32- yes, I am publishing your actual age!  I know you still get carded more than I did when I was 21, so I am sure you won’t mind!  I hope that this year brings you more joy and peace and that I am able to see you more.
