Therese’s jacket was in the same room as a sleeping toddler, and I never risk waking a wee one!  She was thrilled to wear one of mommy’s army sweatshirts.  She said it kept her warmer than her winter coat!  More pictures of “Snowmageddon” to come- I just have to finish uploading.

Going on 19....Happy Birthday, Bridget!  You were the one I was always trying to “catch up” to… born a whole 18 months before me and you were always carving a path.  Often I wanted to follow exactly where you had trod, but it didn’t always turn out that way.  I guess God knew what he was doing!  No one ever believed we were sisters in high school- do you remember?  “You get along too well!”  This comment was repeated often by our peers and superiors alike.  Except for the last name we didn’t really have a lot in common- you were petite and blond while I was tall and dark.  You shunned all team sports and thrived in your individuality and creativity while I worked to be part of every team there was!  We did share a love fof music but even in that you branched out beyond what I cared to or could ever hope to achieve.  You are still the big sis I am looking to for advice in so many areas- “What do you think of teaching math this way, Bridget?”  “What is a better approach to discipline in this area?” “Where would be a fun place to travel?”  “How can we be better about our budget?” (Bridget is the queen of frugality!) We also agree to disagree on many fronts but I know you know that I love you so much and I am always praying for you.   I cannot believe you are already 32- yes, I am publishing your actual age!  I know you still get carded more than I did when I was 21, so I am sure you won’t mind!  I hope that this year brings you more joy and peace and that I am able to see you more.

The Fab Five

Minus Bridget on Christmas Eve… the Agnew siblings brought merriment and joy to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for the holidays.
We forgot to take a photo of the five of us in the chaos of Christmas Day, but I managed to capture Bridget before she returned to Chicago.

A (not so) big Christmas surprise

December 26, 2009

Had to share these pictures of the latest addition to the McGovern family.
Aunt Jen and Uncle Dave surprised the kids (and Lori and I) with a pet tortoise for Christmas. The yet to be named Russian tortoise has been camped out in Grandma and Grandpa’s bedroom for the past few days.
I’m trying to decide [...]

Celebrating with Daddy

December 21, 2009

Every year The Heritage Foundation throws a fabulous Holiday Party that our kids look forward to from the first day of Advent!  They get to wear their new gowns (and new jackets this year!).  Brendan wore his little suit, but he was too busy and wouldn’t stand – or sit- still for a photo.  Of [...]
